Default Need Help, 71 instrument cluster removal

Hi again guys. I finally finished the heater box removal and heater core replacement in my 71. Now I'm working on the instrument panel. I replaced the turn signal switch today, and since I had the steering wheel off I want to replace the bulbs in the cluster and polish the lens a bit. I got the trim off removed the screws for the cluster, and the cluster only comes out barely enough for me to squeeze my fat forearm behind it. I can feel the harness connector on the cluster, and have pulled pretty hard and no luck. Is there any trick to getting the harness off the back of the cluster? Are there any retaining clips holding the block onto the back of the cluster? I don't want to pull too hard and mess something up. Any help would be appreciated.

Default RE: instrument cluster removal

On my 65, I know that it will only come out a tad until you unscrew the speedo cable.

Although thats a 65, Ive never even touched a 71
