Default How hot does the bay get?

About to start painting the engine bay. Found some Rustoleum that supposed to be very durable, like constuction equipment grade stuff. Although it says to not use on surfaces over 200 degrees

I Used Rustoleum all over my floor pans ect.. Work's great. Add a hardener to it if you want it to last even longer. Can't say I've used it for high temp applications. Automotive paint isnt reall made to withstand heat and people paint their engine compartment's with it all the time.

Your engine bay will be fine with normal paint, IF you paint any pieces of the engine, this is where you need the high temp paint!

+1 High temp paint not needed for the bay itself.

I will use the primer, its supposed to be a good rust protective. Plus im going with gloss, and want it to be pretty uniform. If I was going semi-gloss, I wouldnt go with the primer.
