Progress, mmmm
Well I have been working on finishing the wiring, since some of the headlight harness had been ripped out. Got everything put together, and went out and bought a motorcycle battery for testing.
Threw it in and got the lights, radio, wipers going. Went to test the brake lights, got nothing. I will test bulbs first, then the switch.
Now I need some courtesy lights or something, its a little dark right now. Then getting the speakers in.

nice. wiring can be a pain.
i had quite an adventure with my wiring today.
i went to the mustang store, talked to the guy about buying a whole new underdash harness. he said bring it in cause he can usually repair them. but the PO cut some wires leaving no room to splice or extend the ones that were junk. and i have a rare underdash harness too. its a "later" harness with the integrated hazard switch and all the wiring for the GT accesories. so since he cant fix mine, i have to go search for another later harness with an integrated hazard switch. then i can bring my old one, and the new(er) one to the guy so he can transfer all my GT wiring to the new harness. all the "early" underdash harnesses have a seprate harness for the hazard switch. and theres no such thing as a remake or repro of the "later" harness which i have. so if i go with the early one, then i have to sacrafice my hazard switch, cause they also dont make a repro hazard harness for the early harnesses. [&o] its kind of confusing but i took my time to think about it and it all makes sense
.
and i would highly recomend getting the courtesy lights working cause i never had them in my car, but then when i hop in my dads 66, its a whole new world! the difference is night and day. its so much nicer when you can flip a switch and see what/who is in the car with you

My boss has a problem with his 68 FB or so we think. When you open the doors the courtesy lights don't come on, until you turn the key with the door open. Is this the way it is supposed to be or are the supposed to work without the key?

Mine comes on when you open the door regardless of whether the key is in or not and FWIW....the light bulb under there will burn the you know what out of you after being on for only a couple of minutes. I have taken to taking off my negative battery cable any time I am working on the car but especially when working under the dash.
