the a/c growl

Does anybody know the remedy on the a/c belt growl on a factory york compressorset up.Other than going to a sanden conversion.

New, high quality belt from Goodyear or Gates. Nice and tight. What you hear is belt slippage as the compressor comes up to speed as the clutch engages.

I had some belt squeel a while back and went with one of the Gater-back belts. Seems the little seperations on the belt actaully grip better and stopped the squeel completely.
