Default Black liquid from exaust

Just started the convertible and notice black oily drops from exaust. 351-C. What is it?

more then likely its condensation from the exhaust and is getting blown out when you started the car up, either muffler drain could be clogged and now its coming out the tip or its just excessive condensation.

I had this before. It is just water and carbon mixing and then coming out of the exhaust.

+1 a small bit of water is a sign of efficient combustion. plus you get water in the exhaust from short trips that cant evaporate. short trips are the nuber one cause of rust out

Thank BA. Its been a while... like 20 years since I've had a classic car. in my teens I've replaced motors, gaskets, heads, carbs, valves, trans, brakes, interiors, you name it. I have forgotten more than I know, but it is coming back to me solwly. You all are helping me to remember. Thanks
