Battery cable terminal?
I got my thicker battery cable for my relocation project, wrapped it up with tape, and went to the store to get terminals for it. Now, I got brass terminals for the battery posts (better than lead/steel ones, right?), but what is the correct name for the terminals at the other end? Like, where the battery cable connects to the solenoid and I suppose you could use the same type for the ground cable? The store had "cable lugs" which I guess is what I'm talking about, but they were only 3/8" opening and I'm using a 1guage wire....

You may also wish to consider soldering the connection after you have staked it. Basically you put the cable in a holding fixture (Vise, clamp, etc..) then take a propane torch and heat up the lug/wire end. When hot enough, the solder will wick up inside the connection making it solid. Remember to use a flux before staking the cable in the lug.
You may also want to use some heat shrink over the end to keep it from arching on anything.
