Default RE: trany swap

Well, a 289 is basically a 302 (same block) which is a 5.0 which came in foxbodies which had T5s... see where I am going with this yet? It is no problem at all. it will physically bolt up and function with no problems. Youwill need a different clutch and release assembly (thereare many ways to do this, hydraulic, cable, linkage, ect...). I also believe you have to have the driveshaft shortened and you will need a swap crossmember. Check out www.mustangsplus.com. they have most of the parts you will need for a T5 conversion.
