Default Power Drain?

Could having an amplifier and stereo be putting a power drain on my system that could result in dim headlights, tail lights and flashers?

Yes, but normally only when driving at night, in the rain, with your stereo cranked up.

What I mean is.... normally the addition of an amped stereo won't cause visible signs of too much amperage draw until you start using most of the cars original electrically powered components

For instance, during the daytime, the ALT is recharging the battery, supplying power to the coil adn then the amped stereo. No problems (unless you have an unusually high amperage draw stereo/amp).

Under the same conditions at night, the alternator is also powering the headlights and if it's raining, the WS wiper motor. There's only so much amperage that the factory stock ALT can handle, so things either start cutting out, or working at less than full amperage.

Upgrading to a higher amp rated ALT is a fairly simple matter.

yes

check battery voltage when parked, should be 12.3V about. When running at 1,400 RPM should be over 13V

if its over running your alt then its not going to charge.

This is really frustrating. Other drivers are constantly honking at me because they can't see my flashers and brake lights. I have specs to direct wire the lights, but really don't want to have to do that. I am going to double check the bulbs and perhaps replace the regular headlights with LEDs...but doesn't solve the flasher issue...

Thoughts?

Just unhook your amp and see if you lights are brighter. If so, there's your answer..
