Default carb issues

okay so when i let my car sit for more than a day or two the carb sticks and gas flows out of the carb, its the stock autolite 2100 i think is what you call it. ive already rebuilt and cleaned it. and im tired of having to take the top off and jiggle the floater to free it up.

so i need to start looking for a new carb. thinking in the 500 CFM department. My car is all stock so i dont need anything big but want room to grow and 500 seems to be a moderate size in aftermarket carbs right?

any one know a place that i can get a carb at a decent price. used is okay as long as it works good.

if anyone has one that they arent using id be very interested or if they know anyone that has one theyd be willing to sell.

also i have this barely used 650 Holley w/mech secondaries, my friend had it on his 68 camaro but said it was a little to radical for his stock 305 or 350 cant remember. He gave it to me to use on my 351 but im selling that car and this carb is too big for my motor.

if anyone wants to trade me their 500 for this 650 ill do it out right as long as the 500 works good and is in good condition.

i have a post in the classifieds about the 650 complete with pics.

500CFM would be perfect for that car. I have an Edelbrock on my daily driver and I love it. They'revery simple carbs (although not as simple as the 2100) and pretty easy to tune once you're familiar with the design. There are no gaskets below fuel level to leak, andyou can retune it in less than half an hour without even taking the carb off the engine. Make sure you get a tune kitfor it as well; there is no such thing as an 'out of the box' carb.

That said, you can rebuild your 2100 in short order with a $20 rebuild kit available at pretty much any auto parts store and a bucket of Chemtool.

8if you're looking for a new one, .you might want to get a Demon 525. Jegs sells them reman with full warranty.
if money is your concern I'd pt for the rebuild kit as well
