im only 23 yrs old and the quote was for insuring it in IL.

If i select to insure it in IA its like $5 cheaper. If i put in my dads birthday (hes 50) the rate drops to $256.

I might end up seeing how it works with having more then 1 driver.

That's the reason. Expect a nice drop when you hit 25-26 (as long as your record stays clean).

So you are going through a local underwritting agent and not straight to Hagerty? I havent had good luck with the local Hagerty underwriter.

That is an exact copy/paste of an email i got in response to sending an email to " auto@hagerty.com " which is listed on their site as who to contact by email for questions

Theres one locally that can underwrite Hagerty policies but i didnt really care for the guy. I asked about mileage limits and it was "as little as possible, the car is going to be like a jewel to you and youll drive it very little so it doesnt matter"

Thats literally 99% accurate in how he said it. I asked 2 more times and kept getting the same thing. I asked a few other questions and he couldnt answer so i just said nah, sorry man i think ill just go straight to Hagerty then. He honestly thought i was just going to go to them to get the answers and said "well after that if you want to get a policy with them let me know"

He then got on my nerves by asking if i had looked at their financing deal on their website my exact words were "the car is paid for, i have the title in hand, i dont need to finance" hes response? well you should still look at it, it might help you a lot ... all becuase im 23 and looking for classic car insurance.

i thought you had to be 25 as well. Here is what their website states in the FAQ's. It is the 8th Q down.

How many years of driving experience is required of an insured?

A.

We are happy to discuss coverage with all enthusiasts and able to consider drivers 18 years old and older. In some states, we cannotoffer coverage todrivers with less than 5 years driving experience. Underwriting guidelines, including household driving records, will apply.

thank you all for your response. I called today to find out my quote but the lady was busy and I had to go to work and when I got out they where closed. I think I will go in on Sat. I went to the site of Hagerty and did a quick quote it was 265 for a stock and $365 for modified. Which is not bad cause I am paying $44 a month for liability which $528 a year for liability. Did I understang right? 65rangoon you have insurance with them with out milage restrictions? Onegreedy so as long as I have regular plates the restriction won't be there? I can't wait till Sat. to go find out in person about everything. Thanks again to everyone.

Speaking of insurance and Companies.

I am what they call a "Professional Driver" (CDL certified)
I have been driving as a "Professional Driver" since I was 21 and I am now 35.
Since I started driving as a CDL driver I have legally logged over 2.5 MILLION Safe driving miles.
No Accidents, No saftey violations of any sort during this time.
My last speeding ticket I received was April of 1999 in my car and not my truck.
I am a home owner and insure more then one car.

Do you think I would get a insurance break of any sort? NO
The only breaks I get are for getting older/buying houses and owning more then one car. LOL

Sometimes I love AMERICA more then other times....

i dont have a hagerty plan as of yet, i am in the process of getting one. The email reply i post was literally from Tuesday of this week ha. My car is still insured with my Gma as its still in her name.

Hagerty & Grundy both have unlimited mileage policies but Grundy seems to have a more strict policy then Hagerty as in its NOT insured in a parking lot if you run into a store quick
