This is how you solve the space issue. See the picture attachment.

What'sthe distance from the roof of your car to the floor when the car is in the air. My garage is 12-15' high, just wondering..

In my particular case the bottom of the ceiling trusses are 12 feet from the garage floor. When the garage door is open, I have 11 feet and 4 inches of clearence. My garage is that tall because of the way the elevation of my property is laid out. I had no idea about these lifts when I built the garage. However, since my garage was abnormaly tall, I went with a special order lift that can accommadate a taller vehicle beneath it when raised. They make a standard lift that works in 8 foot high garages. You just won't be able to park a 4x4 pick up underneath. You will be able to park a car beneath it. The county that I live in wouldn't allow me to expand my garage so I had to "skin the cat" another way. Besides, this lift cost a hell of a lot less then an addition would. Plus I get to use the lift to service my rides.

This is the outer view of my house, with my car and if you can imagine, my sisters P.T Loser about 20 feetup (behind my jeep)the street and my brothers across the street. Technically mine isnt even in front of our property, its more on our neighbors.

And then here is one with the garage and our two Vettes in it.

As you can see, we have no room for a lift, but trust me, my dad has talked about it many times. He even talked about buying the house across the street when it was on the market a few years ago to convert it into a really long garage. Knock out a few of the walls and have another 8 spots.

We have three cars and two car garage. The 65 and 05 stay inside and the 99 Cherokee sits in the drive. When I work on the 65, the 05 has to move outside to give me enough room. I have considered the lift but if I use it for the 65 any car below it will get a bath in transmission fluid, at least right now, unless the lift has a solid floor. I have 14 feet of height but my garage door opens at standard 8 feet or so. I would guess that is changeable.

You don't need a lot of space to have a mustang

Before

But the more space you have, the more things to tend to put in it

Have the sister and brother move out. Put Mom and Dad in a home andsendMom's Chevy and Dad's Kiawith them as payment for afew months. Sell one of Dad's Corvettes and use the money to add on to the garage. You'll have your DD Cherokee, a Corvette and your Mustang, all under roof. Problem solved.

I just moved into an apt from my folks place.

There, I had 10 acres, a 3 car garage, a 40x70 pole barn wth a hip roof, and 10 or 11 parking spots at the top of the driveway.

I have had alot of cars in different shapes of disarray and my mother (bless her heart) never minded because "boys will be boys" and the closest neighbor was a mile away.

Now I have 3 parking spaces at my Apt, a 10x20 cramped storage unit... and an extra bedroom in the apartment, which currently has a complete 1966 mustang interior in it, 5 carburetors, a 289 cast 2bbl intake manifold, some DJ equipment (including big cabinet speakers) and 8 computers. oh, and my dog's kennel.

I don't like it here. Not enough room, and my internet blows ***, whch is particularly lousy because i'm in school for network architecture and administration and i like playing pc games online...

sigh

But, when your old man kicks you out, and says "if all your crap and your cars are not gone by June 1, I'll throw everything away." you really listen... and figure out wtf you can do.
