body, no paint
Sure is nice not being in a hurry. At this rate I'll bedone in. . .oh. . .10 yrs. Got all the mechanicals and electrical done, and this is my first real shot a bodywork.Realizing my wife of 18 yrs has put my stang at the bottom of the priority list, I don't have the luxurynor room for apaint booth.I plan on grabbinga good DA sander, with vacuum pick-up, and a long board, but here lies my next question. I'm sure to go weeks working on the same panel or piece. So, what do I use to paint and protect between work. My intent is to gut most of the car, do the sheet metal, then prep the body for paint, pay for primer and paint. I'm open to all suggestion.
i use this stuff. its what is currently on my car. its a beige surfacing primer. it comes in gray, beige, and black as far as i know. but its EXPENSIVE. @ $16 a can ive used almost 4 cans and have done about a 1/3 of my car. then i will sand with finer paper and primer with the featherfill mix primer then wetsand then prime then wet sand them prime then wetsand then we'll see what its like.

there's nothing better then going out in the garage and working on something till you're personally satisfied. I spent many a younger day, scrambling Sunday night, tohave my car running by monday AMforwork. now, it doesn't matter. When the kids are nagging and the wife is screaming, you know what to find me...
