Default bearings

Just bought a detroit truetrac with 4.11. gears and installation kit. The bearings in the installation kit don't fit the posi, so now what do I do? Do they make different sized bearings for 8"?

I would call eaton. Give them thepart numbers off of your original bearings and tell them abouth the problem that you are having and I am sure that they can give you the part number for the bearings that you need.

Eatons phone number is 1-800-328-3850, then dial extension 6762. I forgot what his name was but he helped me out on my detroit locker and he knows what he is talking about. Just be sure to have the original bearing part numbers when you call, and it wouldnt hurt to measure them also (the outer race) in case he dosent have anything to cross reference the part numbers you have.

Luckily, I found a part number from a manufacturer of bearings that was different from the original bearings. Took it to Napa, and sure enough it fit the posi.

Post the part number so if anyone else has the same problem they can find this thread and know what to use.
