i have a 68 coupe with magnum 500s currently. they are 14x7 and i believe 4.5" backspace (whatever is original on these rims). i have 205/70/14s with a good fit all the way around.

my question is.......

how wide can i go with these rims in the back (tire wise)? i would like 235/60/14 but don't know if they will stick out a little. the car is all stock in suspension and wheel lip/wheel tubs.

sorry if i stole any thunder and thanks.
I have a set of TTII's with 235/50/16 on all 4 with a drop kit and my wheels dont rub. I think the 60 is too high of a tire for the fronts with that width.

if your tires don't rub with 235/50/16s, then i will be fine with 235/60/14s because they are the same height (the 16 made up the difference).

check it out for yourself on this little tool i use for calculating differences and speedo calibrations.

yes jimmy but the round bulge of the tire might rub the fender. thats why a 17 inch wheels fits better than a 15 sometimes.they measure the width of the tread from the top of the tire, not the widest point on a tire.
