428CJ Rusted Shell Worth?
from the Bullit chase and a 65 Stingray which is on auction for $25K at the moment.

try to find what happended to the engine and maybe track it down. I am hoping to
get the car for US$2K.
Jav
That is a great price. People usually get alot less for 2k when it comes to a fastback. That sucks that it doesn't have the original motor, that's a huge part of the value. But if you can find a 428CJ with a similar date code missing its car it will help out.
If it is a CJ then the rev-limiter by itself is worth 4 or 5hundred dollars. The Mach1 rocker molding is worth a good 500 as well. Tach dash, 800.00. Seats are good for a few hundred. Trans & rear = gold.
If you can get anywhere close to that thing for 2k then jump with both feet, & fast.

There was a 'cuda in bullitt? Are we talking about the same movie?
I had a chance to buy a 70 AAR cuda rolling shell like 10 years ago. $2500 for a complete shell with all bodywork done, no motor, tranny, or rearend.
I was like 11 at the time, so I didn't appreciate what the car was and didn't really want that big of a project.
sigh.

I got a 1970 Mach 1 428 CJ w/ Ram Air from a buddy's Dad about 3 years ago for $500. When I found out what kind of car it was I knew as a 23 year-old Marine I was not going to be be able to fix it and wanted to see it go somewhere good. It did not have the engine or transmission anymore, but did have all the other original parts to it. The floor pans had been cut out in prep for new ones to be welded in. But it looked about the same. Mine was an R-code... so check yours out. I ended up putting it on ebay and it sold for over $10,000! And that is just the shell and body parts... no drive train. Good luck with the deal!
