Default Mustang "Codes"

I have seen on many posts and many for sale ads different Codes, such as C-Code or K-Code, And I was just wondering what is the difference between them all? Prices? Engines? Colors? Desirability?

C code is regular 289
k code is hi perf 289

it is engines yes
but goes along with desirability as well
as the hi perf is more desirable than a regular 289
