Default Floor pans

So I have new floors for my 1970 coupe. I am attempting to cut and weld them I'm myself. However, I do not want to mess around with the seat riser and I don't want to cut into the frame rails also. So here is the question, what is the best way to avoid cutting into the frame rails to remove the floor panels?

Everything is spot welded. You need to get yourself a load of those spot weld removing drill bits and simply drill out each spot weld. If you are removing the entire floor pan , you'll have to remove the seat platforms since they are spot welded to the pans. The trick is to make sure you take pics of the old stuff. Use chalk or markers to make lines that show where the old stuff went. If you have the car on jack stands make sure you dont remove to much supporting metal or the car will start to fold. It will be just enough to make things like the doors not fit properly. The frame rails are spot welded as well. The spots are easy to see through the old primer. Have fun and good luck.

What you lack in knowledge you make up for in caring.

A slightly curved chisel in an air hammer will do the trick on the rockers and seat pans. Cut along the floor right up against rocker. then all that is left is to grind the strip that left until it falls off. Or ust the air hammer. Like pulling up carpet. I only recommend this method when you are taking thin metal away from thicker metal. Other wise is can be very tricky not to tear the wrong metal
