I have a 66 with a 289 when it idles or when it is in any gear it squeeks. It sounds like a metal on metal squeek, like an exhaust flange or loose exhaust. I unbolted bouth exhaust pipes at the flang and moved them around when the car was running and no change still squeeking. I then unbolted the right side completle and started the car, exhaust was loud and squeek was louder. I shoved a rag in the exhaust manafold for a few seconds and the squeek went away. This sounds crazy and is driveing me mad. I checked everything else and nothing on the car is loose. this car runs great and is very very strong on the freeway 70+ mph no prob. Any ideas thx.
