Well, to make it a posi, you'd have to hack in a GM differential:P For the purists, "posi" is short for Positraction, GM's limited-slip differential. Traction-Loc is Ford, Sure-Grip is Mopar.

That said, that particular unit is a worm gear driven Detroit TrueTrac, not a limited slip. It's just the differential, not the entire carrier. You'd still need a carrier and gears to install the diff into. You could either use your existing carrier w/new gears and bearings (in which case I'd recommend letting a shop do it), or buy a complete 3rd member which has everything installed and will simply bolt into your current axle housing.

I have a question. If I have a traction loc in my current rearend on my 69...but the axle came from a 65-66 Mustang (too narrow) would I have to buy a whole new 3rd member assembly or just remove the current one to fit in a 9" Ford housing?
