1966 Floor Pans
Hey guys, I just joined the forums. My '66 is ready for new floors. Anyone have any suggestions for which type...the full pan or the seperate pieces? Do you guys know if it's better to cut the floors out and butt-weld the new ones in? Or is it better to try to mimic the factory spot welds? Or should I use a lap weld? Any input you guys have would be awesome. Thanks.
Well, first of all, you can't get a full floor pan with the hump in the door. So, yeah, you need to buy the separate floor pans and hump then weld them in inside the car. Bead welding is the preferred method, then use sealers for the cracks. However, if it were mine, I would lay down a bead on the entire connection. On EDIT: I see this is your first post here. Welcome to the site.
If you want a full floor pan check the link. But there expensive.
