Default Strange request

I have a strange request, and I don't honestly know if this is done on the forums here but it never hurts to ask. So I was wondering if I could get a pic of an original 1970 mustang's steering column. I have a 70 coupe that I'm working on and the column that is in there now has some weird linkage set in to it. Its hard to explain and even harder to get a decent picture. What it is is below where the ignition sits is a movable part of the shaft that determines wether or not the keys can be removed from the ignition. This part is connected to the linkage that runs to the transmission, it appears to be shift linkage of some kind, but was not connected to transmission when i removed it. So then what is this mystery part!?. The car came with a c-4 trans a 302 and the guys who had it before of course swore that it was original. So I want to compare the two.

no 70 here, but you might just be lucky. Sounds like a device that disables you from pulling the key when you are not in park position.
Never heard of it, but kinda makes sense ..?!

Yes it has a dual purpose ...Keeps you from removing key when its not in park and also locks the steering colum in place when in park.I had problems with mine not releasing the wheel after inserting key so i took the linkage off of it

Hope this helps
