Default Spark Plug suggestions please

I have a 302 in a 65 coupe (sorry). What plug would you suggest for general street performance and reliability?

All is stock but building up, just a little. Thread is 18mm and projection is .460. Would a non-resistor plug really be noticable in the radio? Thanks!

Autolite 45's. They're replacements for the original BF42's and they work just fine in my very warm 331. If you want them to last longer, you can go with a set of platinum or double platinum plugs (AP45 and APP45, respectively), but don't expect any improved performance from them.

I have no radio noise in my 67 with Autolite 45's. I'd be more concerned about wires than plugs. Make sure you get spiral-core wires, not solid-core off-road only wires.

So the RFI suppression spiral wound wires are moe of an impact than the plugs? Are the "45's" labeled as "FRM45" as on Summit Racing's site?

I'm thinking Moroso Blue Max spiral core or Accel Spiral core with Accel u-groove plugs. Sound ok? Also trying to ID the 45's.

Yes, wires make a much bigger difference in RFI than plugs. Running solid-core wires is guaranteed to give you noise on your radio.

FRM45 plugs are Ford Racing Motorsport, which are likely reboxed Autolites. Just go to your local parts store and pick up some Autolite 45's. They're cheap.

I'm running Ford Racing 8mm spiral-core wires right now, but the lengths are off so I'll be switching to Moroso Blue Max wires for the next go around. As long as the wires are from a quality manufacturer (Moroso, MSD, Accel, etc), you should be fine. There's not likely to be any performance difference between them.

You've been a big help, thanks!

BTW: Love SLO. I'm from Huntington Beach.

Look at installing a set of E3 Spark plugs if you want an upgrade from the standard.

The only E3s I see are 14mm and they're $6 each! This is my son's "learning" car. He's 16 so I don't want to go crazy.

I spent 20 years rodding with Pontiacs and Chevys. This is my first Ford because we came acroos a real steal! Lady had to dump it - 64 1/2 coupe with a 302 (ouch), but in excellent, excellent condition - $4500. ORIGINAL AC unit (cream white bolt on thing under the dash) still works great!

What coil would you suggest for a Pertronix II conversion kit?
