Default SHE"S RUNNING!!! FINALLY

Went to the garage again tonight after work and ripped into her. Put in the oil pump drive, put the distributor back on, wired it back up, rechecked and redid all my lash on the valves, fired her up and it was beautiful, she fired up and ran by herself at a nice idle. The only thing I was kind of disappointed about was the lope of the cam, Comp claimed it would be choppy but it sounds like stock , but oh well, she's running and I'm so happy about it. It's been a long struggle, but it seems like the experience is winding down. Just figured I'd share.

if the idle was up past 1,000 rpm it might not lope as much as you would expect..650ish is good you should notice it then...unless it is a lot like stock.

No I know that, it's hard to tell right now what RPM the idle is set at. Still have to install the tach, I'd say 800ish. Still need to fine tune it all tomorrow. Actually excited to work on it now.

This is true, more cubes, and more stroke will chill a cam out some, + IMO especially concerning "street grinds" the cam companies often "overstate" the changes a cam will cause in an engine.... Probably due to too many people bitching that their cars "don't run right" with their new cam.... (Years ago!)

Congrats on getting that car running, that is always such a great feeling, kind of a high that other non car people who surround our daily lives just don't appreciate,,,,I am happy for you,,, and I can appreciate how good this makes you feel,, I am with you brother!...
