so i just got back from being away for 6 months and took my mustang project out for a spin, and im working otu a couple problems, first what should my 390s operating temp be at ( about ) ? and how far does the dipstick go intot he block? all my stuff got moved while i was away, and i have my dipstick but not the sleeve, so i need to fab up a new one.

 

The temp will be close to what your thermostat is...180-190 is common.

As far as the dip stick, I can measure mine tomorrow and let you know. I would buy one rather than fab one though.

 

ya im goign to but i need to check the oil in the mean time, i want to take it out again in the morning, but i wont be able to make it to my local mustang shop for a week or two.
