Default Brake Drum Spring Placement-Pics

So I've recently refurbished my 8" backing plates and I'm now installing all the new hardware. I've been using some online pictures as well as my old auto notes to double check my work, but I seem to have encountered a problem. I need to fit one more spring on the anchor pin, but there's just no more room! The spring currently on top is a snug fit as it is. Suggestions/solutions?

Am I making a mistake by putting the shoe guide/anchor pin plate on there? It appears as if it needs to sit lower, but the lower diameter of the anchor pin is too large for the shoe guide to fit on. Not even close.

Ibelieve the plate should go there. Kind of looks like it should be turned over though. Also, I don't think the washer belongs.

That is not a washer, that is the metal connecting loop for the adjuster actuator cable. I also initially put the shoe guide on the other way, but all the other pictures out there show it that way. I have since put the drums together without the retainer. I still need my query answered though.

I have another question now. The adjuster spring mounts kind of funny, just doesn't seem right.

It just goes into the shoe, and is sort of wedged? Seems like it should 'hook' better.

Not sure if this helps but here is a picture of my front drum brakes from a '67.

Well the last 2 posts do answer my question about that little retainer plate. They aren't as clear about that bigger spring... I'll just have to assume it's in right, I guess. No other way it could go in that I saw.

It appears that some of you need to pick up a better camera. Something that has a real working auto focus and a quality sharp lens. Then it might make it easier to see the problem.
