Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forums.

I had to wait 28 years to get my classic, and when I did, I had to get the wife's okay as well...reluctantly.

I'm sure you will get most if not all of your questions answered here on your new purchase.

From what I see it is not a Sprint. But I could be wrong. There is no C stripe, no wheel well trim, and it has a 67 hood on it.

I wasn't able to see the pics. BA, How did you see the pics?

Newbie68, Have you seen this:

http://www.mustangmonthly.com/featur...e_b/index.html

The one thing I see that is odd in the MM article is the car appears to have chromed rims which I believe were not available 'til 69. I believe they should be argent painted rims with stainless trim rings. I like the '69 rims better.

View his public profile and look in his albums. He has photos of his mustang there.

Talking

The car has been repainted. and has had the right fender replaced. Marti Auto called me and now I have to take the left fender off to try and locate the vin.. left door replaced also, as due to the AF it is possibly a ,Mexican Built car. This is where the family tree gets harder to track. As for the rims, I found several articles that said these were the wheels offered on the Sprint Package.

Once I figure this out I can better decide which way to go. Either way I am loving it. Figure I will drive it for a week or two and then start surgery.

probably the only way to find out if it's a sprint is to see if the fog lights/wiring are original. the gas cap was changed and the stripes, if any, were of course removed for the paint (and prob the wheel mouldings). either way, it looks like a good buy
