they can enter your fenced property without a warrant with no probable cause or a reasonable suspicion?? here in ga thats a no go, unless it something subject to the plain view rule. for example a pot plant etc visible would be ground to enter, but i hardly see how a car would be grounds to check. since it is legal to own a car. Kinda like pulling someone over to check for a DL, thats a no go without a reason.

I've had my fb since jan. this year and I've only parked it somewhere public ONCE.....and it was extremely nerve racking till i got back out to the parking lot. I just simply dont trust anyone mostly because I know once they spot it, they have to go look up close, put fingerprints on it and so on. Its the only thing I dont like....so i just never go anywhere where I have to leave it out of my sight. I have a dd nissan frontier, and the mustang never gets parked at say a costco parking lot(do you know how crazy those people are with shopping carts?!)

I will always get into a convo at 1 out of 3 stop lights....people always have something nice to say. Just last weekend, I was leaving a truck stop after filling up and this 60-something yr old dude in a reg cab f-150 comes up blasting his horn behind me at the light.....he pulled up in the grass alongside just to tell me that he bought one brand new for $3000 back in ny 35 years ago...same color and everything lol. I was like yeaaaa man, I wish I had a time machine....I'd go back and buy em all haha.

Another time, I was filling up and this redneck dude comes over and said....danggggg, with a car you like that, you could get laid with warts on your dick. I laughed and thanked God that he left right after lol.

Oh wow, another time I was out in the truck on a sunday and I spotted this old tank crawling up on me from behind. I slowed down to let it pass and wowwww, it was an old ford...I still don't know what it was but it was a classic 4 door ford car, the badge said XL on it, and I'm pretty sure it had a 390 badge on the fender. But what was really cool was there was 4 old people in it, 2 dudes in the front and I guess their chicks in the back....all 4 had to be in the 60's+. I gave a thumbs up and smiled.....and the 2 old chicks in the back shot me a thumbs up back, smiled like teenagers and waved before hauling *** like i was going in reverse lol.

I usually try to park at the edges of lots, besides walls or back of lots where theres not gonna be people and lots a space. I HATE how many people just throw their doors open. or else id probably have my bumb guard things off already...

as for people asking, first, if they arnt too educated on the subject, they ask "what is that?? camero or somthing?" or, they guess its a 71. close, but no.
the ones who almost always get it right though, are usually 40s somthing women. not sure if thats good or not haha. had a lady ask me if had been in my family its whole life. i liked that question.

If you must park in a public spot, park it as far away from the other cars as possible. Now is not the time to try to get a good spot up front. Don't be afraid to walk your fat asses across the Wally World parking lot. Pulling into a spot that has a curb on one side lessens the chances of the ol' wayward shopping cart slamming into your baby.

At Walmart I usually park back by the garage area. Only a few spots back there and the grease monkeys see it and you and tend to keep an eye on it. Last time I came out of Walmart one of the worker bees said that he ran off a couple of boofers that were eyeballing it pretty hard and one of them tried to open the door.

I have to admit no one ever bothers me at stop lights but I do get a lot of comments about the car such as "nice car", etc. With no AC I always have the windows down and I catch folks checking her out but never get many comments there. Maybe it is too hot for them to roll down their windows, LOL!

One lady a while back darn near ran off the road checking out the car, I just shook my head at that one.

The boys have a friend who's mom really likes the car. She said something to me one time about wanting to drive it. I thought to myself, "yeah, dream on...I don't even let my wife drive the Stang" :-)

I drove the couple of minutes from work to home yesterday and got at least two "nice car" type comments that I can think of. One was a kid about 12 or so on his bike and the other was a younger girl who was maybe 15 or 16 so glad to know there is a younger generation coming up that appreciates the classics.

I try to find the most empty gas station possible when I have to fill her up, get the wrong person at the next pump and you could be there a while. :-)

I drive mine to work about 1 day a week but we have a secure garage and I park it on the top floor where not very many people park and there is a spot or two where you can park with no spots next to you.

However, other than work I pretty much never park where I can't see the car. I drive it a lot to the dojo on Saturdays but I can park it right outside the door and I can see the car out of the several windows on the front.

It never fails to amaze me, but every time I take the 'Stang to the grocery store, I park it as far away from the door as possible with a curb on on side. Every time I come out, there's a car right next to mine. This happens in an empty lot!

I once had a car pull up at a stop light and a college aged girl driving her mother asks "Nice Car! Is it brand new? Her mother gave her some sh*#% and told it was a Mustang. This was about 3 years ago.

OK part of my casualness with how and where I park my car is: 1. $100 deductible. 2. the paint isn't perfect, and it's never going to be, so one little scratch isn't going to ruin my day. 3. After driving it everywhere every day for 17 years, I just treat it like any other car.

I DO NOT lock my car. Not once since 1991. In fact, the passenger lock broke in 1995.

If some moron wants to look inside, fine. If they want to go in my glove box and take my Jack-in-the-box antenna ball, fine. If they want to take the ball point pen from my console, or my spare $3 Venice Beach sunglasses, fine. People have been in my console 3 times. So what? They can't take the dashboard, and I keep my interior super clean. If I locked the car, some imbecil would just break the quarter window, which is a much bigger pain than replacing that antenna ball.

Also, if you crank your window in your DD every day, that's 730 times a year. If you shut the window every time you park it, triple that number, and more. It only rains 10 days a year here. It won't rain for 10 months at a time. Someitimes my window is down for months. In fact, it's down in pic in my sig, lol.

Stealing the car? that cute little door lock is certainly not going to stop anyone. I can't live life worried about that crap, that's why I have theft insurance. If someone steals my car, I will just collect a fat check and make an offer to someone on this board for a vert with power windows, or Waffle's 70 FB (plus cash, of course).

My response to "is that daddy's car?" is a good laugh and a "Yeah, like I'd let an old guy drive my car."

Even though my paint is poor and my car isn't in the best condition I still park way out in the middle of the nowhere on a hill if one is free.
