Default Hood interchange

I've come across a hood for a 69 mustang coupe, I have a 70 mustang coupe. My interchange manual says that they won't interchange. The manual that I have is the Ford Parts interchange manual, by Motorbooks workshop. I have my suspicions on this however, so I thought I would go to the experts. Thanks.

Even if you buy it and it doesnt work, 69 is a desirable year for parts so it might be a good ebay/craigslist item.
