My first mustang!!
Congrats, Q.
I got mine in about the same shape as yours for $500 in 1991, except no rust. It took me 3 years in my spare time and a few grand to get the car below in my sig. Hang on to everything you replace if it's the original part. Your car looks to be unrestored, so that's probably everything.
That car needs a new shot at life. A 289 or maybe a beefed up 6 could make it a fun drive. Good luck.

Am I seeing 5-lug wheels?
Can you give the engine code letter off the VIN?
I'm wondering if the car might have been a V8 originally, which would make the move up to a 289/302 fairly easy. The 289 would be period-correct, but the 302 (or the newer 5.0 which is essentially the same thing only newer and expressed in Metric units) is almost certainly going to be easier to find (and likely cheaper as well).

Norm: I am hopefully going to pull it home tomorrow & I'll get the VIN then. Or I'll try & call the guy I bought it from & see if he can tell me. Then I'll post it. Thanks everyone for your support so far & yes this forum is probably going to be busy...lol
First thing I would do judging by the pictures is replace the floor pans and toe boards as well. From the looks of it you probably need to address the cowl area as well.
Going up to a V8 from an I6 can be pretty time consuming / expensive but is possible to do.
If it were me, I would start with the sheet metal work then move on from there.

Welcome and congratulations!
So starts the love/hate relationship. I agree with Carlos, everyone is going to be busy!

Hey, it even has a/c!

You can embed your pictures in your post by left clicking on the bottom link under each picture and then pasting them in the post like I did here.

I think Norm is right. Those look like 5 lug Amer Racers. And the rad looks like a 3 row. Uh, Oh, Maybe it's a K-Code!
OK j/k about the K code.
They are 5 lug wheels, though. I can't wait to see the vin.
The underdash AC looks like a fun resto project too.

I just went to cjponyparts.com looking at some different parts. I was wondering, if I have to replace some floor paneling, would it be better to get it in 2 halves (longways), rear right & rear left, front right & front left. What would be the best option? I don't know if I'm making my question clear or not. If not just tell me & I'll try again. Also, when & if I do get floor paneling I will probably need some info on installing so be ready...lol
