Quick question on brakes.
Real quick. For disc brake conversions. What is the difference between manual and power? I have drums on all four corners, and this is what I want to do next. Also, if I get the manual kit. How hard is it to switch to power? Thanks guys.
just some minor bending of brake lines and you can easily switch from manual to power.
and drum to disk swap is easy.
im about to do it on 2 cars tomorrow lol.
put my factory disk setup onto my dads 66 and my cobra setup onto my 66
for the manual disk setup, you need caliper mounts, bolts for caliper mounts, dust shield (optional), bearings/races/seals, calipers, rotors, and idk about the nut, cotter pin, nut washer, and nut cap thing.
then for the power part, you just need a booster and master cylinder.

The differance is the big booster between the firewall and the master cylinder. Be carefull with the 66's. There's a good selection of boosters that will fit. But there's also a bunch that won't. Be sure and pick one that's made for that application.
The brake pedal is also differant. The '66 factory PB has an odd lever set up to give the pedal more leverage.

I put the discbrakeswap.com OE style manual disc kit on my 67 this summer and I love it. I was worried about the lack of a power booster and figured I could add it later, but I don't think I need it. The pedal is lighter now than it was with my manual drums.
If you do want to add a booster later, you'll need either a different length m/c pushrod, or an adjustable rod.
