engine compartment paint
I just finished my engine bay with Dupont 99A Black with 33% Dupont Flattener, and it is dead on. Go easy on the hardner though and use about 20% thinner. Also keep the paint mixed up, before you load, and even in the gun as the flattener will settle to the bottom real easy. If you go too heavy on the spray, it will get too glossey. I would play around with it on some scrap panel before spraying the bay.
67 evil eleanor, was that the Centari paint? That's what's on my engine bay - great stuff too.
I don't know if ranger1 is planning on using a rattle can or a spray gun.
You need a compressor and spray gun to use the Dupont Centari Black.

When he said paint number, I was thinking he wanted to match the number that Ford used. So far I've not been able to find the exact number and everything comes up discontinued, however this mix (Dupont Centari pre mixed 99A) hits the original sheen dead on. I paid about $26 for a quart for the paint plus you need the hardner, flattener, and thinner. With the rattle cans, Dupli Color "Low Gloss Black" (DP 1634) is about right.
