My right headlight and tail light went out.
both at exactly the same time. left side still work. where should i start. are the sides fused seperately?
are they connected to the switch by sides or by front and back?
do they share a common ground.

Coincidence? No, they are 2 seperate circuits. They are also run in "parallel" with each other. I would start by thinking bulbs. If the left headlight has power, you must lose it between there and the right one. I'd pull the plug off the light and check it for power first.
hiya. yah. check if yopu have power there.
It's common in new cars to have front and back fused trogether but seperate from the other side. Not in classic mustangs though as far as I know
i nearly believe you have two problems. one in the back and one in the front. It could be as simple as bulb as mentioned above.
does the front light still work (as in not the headlight but the first step switching on the yellow light?)
what year is it, so we can check on the wirign diagrams

On the headlight, are both the high and low beam out? If so, I suspect ground as two separate power lines leave the dimmer switch (high and low) and then split for left and right. As mentioned above they are two completely independent circuits and the problems are probably not related.
