Default autometer gauges.

Im intalling a short sweep oil presure gauge and temp gauge under the dash somewhere. Ive heard that all i have to do is replace the sending units in the engine compartment and hook up the original wires but how do i wire the gauges inside the car. Do i just splice into the excisting wires on the gauge cluster? Is it possible to have the stock gauges in my 65 mustang work along with the 2 autometer gauges? Please let me know.

By the way. My car is a 1965 mustang with a 302 4 barral motor out of a 1968 with a t5 tranny. It has a big cam in it as well.

Typically electrical gauges need the correct input sensor (senders) on the engine. Review the Autometer requirements before you order them. Most aftermarket gauges need +12v for one side of the gauge and the sender on the other, so no, you can't use the existing wiring. Yes you can use the gaugers in parallel but you need to wire them that way ( 1 wire to +12 and 1 wire to the sender, posibly a third wire to ground depending on the gauge)

Yes, both can work. The oil pressure port will need a "T" for both senders and the manifold should have 2 ports for the temp sender.
