This is a little older (like 18 months now I believe) but should give you a good idea to bench mark a performance build....just look at the top half where it says Cleveland. If you are not going to assemble it yourself....prices will go up.

If you go standard stroke, it should be a 'little' less.

dodgestang offers pricing for what was obviously a top of the line "rebuild"

Starting out with his pricing is the stroker kit which is NOT necessary for a rebuild. There are a number of other items there that are top premium items, meaning that they are not necessary for a rebuild. His was a performance build as opposed to a rebuild. I'm sure his is a fabulous engine, but you could do a top quality rebuild for about half of that.

Hey I said it was performance

Everybody starts off with "What's it cost to do a rebuild" post....and then 20 post later they start saying well what if I want 400 HP, what if I want a turbo, I want the car to be fast....

I just cut to the chase

thanks to both of you. i wa thinking more of a standard rebuild not a high performance one, car is just driven to school and work occasionally, and was curios about the price. it is in ok condition, but it would be fun to rebuild the engine. thanks again.

Probably closer to $1k for a standard rebuild, if you're only replacing
the worn parts. It all depends on how far up the performance ladder you
want to go.
