Default 1965 mustang gauge hookup

Hey all, im up against a wall I am replacing the gauges. How do i know which wires go to where on the back of the gauge cluster? How do I get this thing hooked up? Any suggestions as to where I should begin?

I labeled all my wires and drawed a diagram showing the placement on the guages. It made replacement a breeze

Default wiring codes

All the wires have color codes that can be followed on a schematic to the right place

Thank you for the links to the diagrams. I paid good money for copies on CD that were not as good as these.

Good advice here. It would laso be a good time to replace all the inst panel lamps, while you got it pulled apart.

Good point!
I changed to LED bulbs in the instruments cluster and I can see now!
They were 25 bucks but you will never have to replace them again, are twice as bright and fit into the original sockets.
Also a good time to repaint the pointers since you have it out too.

Here is the eBay person I bought from.

i have new bulbs and plastic cover and I can see it perfectly well. has a lovely blue shine to it (i have the 64 type speedo). maybe it's a ground issue or your dimmer not working properly. I'd tried that first. mine work perfectly stock
