Angry got the car

**** well for one, the left front frame rail is fubar'd up front, the left front framerail up front is also fubar'd. the florpans were not done correctly, he didnt even send the top of the back seat or any of the rear interior parts, the front seats arent bolted in, it'll turn over but not start. the rear axle looks like its tweaked. AND most of all the mother****er cut out the VIN on the fender apron, so we have no VIN at all!!!!! where else could the VIN be? or is it only on the fender apron? what can i do if i have no VIN?

**** hes gunna get a phone call
pics to come later

Sorry to hear that Racin66. Isn't the VIN under one of the front fenders? Sounds like he forgot to send a few pieces. Make sure to keep your cool as much as possible on that phone call or he might not bother to send anything else that should go with the car.

Did you check the door panel for the warranty/vin number?

Yes, according to what I was told on herer. Because my doors came off another '66 I had to look at the one on the fender apron. And that has the same amount of numbers and the same type of coding.

I hate to say this man, but it sounds like this car may already be titled. I'll bet he got it out of a bone yard and someone sold the vin and title to someone else. This was a very typical approach taken to title a vehicle when the vin was salvaged, stolen, or invalid. That also explains why some of the interior trim that is not reproduced is missing. It was stripped for someone else. I hope I am wrong.

I could be wrong too. But, what I heard was that they didn't actually have a vin until '67 and then they started putting it on the dash where you see a lot of newer cars vins at. Until then, they used the warranty number as the vin. At least that's what I was told, someone let me know if it's different.
