If you already have a new wiring harness or if you're going to modify your harness like the link blue66mustang posted you can get the Delta headlight set (high and low beams) for $140 at NPD. That's a little easier to stomach than $325.

Are there any separate kits that have the headlight wiring harness in 12 gauge wires? I was looking at just adding my own relays and fuses like what james did, but I figured I'd still have to buy the headlights and then figure out the wiring.

All I would have to upgrade is the headlight harness right? Not the whole engine bay harness? Because if thats the case I will look for that

I agree, unless you're going to upgrade your system and add relays to take the load off, they just use stock lamps.

Here's how to upgrade the headlights:

I bought the same type lamps for about 75 bucks. Keep looking and you'll find a better price. You'll also have to modify your headlight buckets because the back of the lamp has a rubber socket that needs clearance to fit.

JamesW, when you installed the tribars and relays and all that, did you redo the wiring for the headlights to a thicker gauge? If so do you have a write-up on that? Is there a place I could buy the plug ends that connect to the harness and the headlights and just add my own wires?

Any help is appreciated, I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade on my car now, this thread has inspired me. I just don't know if I could justify spending 325 on that kit if I can do it all myself and then buy 4 headlights...

When you add the additional wiring to reroute the power for the headlights through the relays, it takes the current load off the the switch and that circuit now just acts as a signal line. There is no need to worry about the size or consition of this wire. Running a new 10 gage wire from the power post on the solenoid, through the relays and to the headlamps will make them brand new strength.
