Then it sounds as if you need some more space Billy. Spend your weekends out on the street selling your body, then you will get enough to build that dream garage. Nah, just kidding. There are a ton of companies out there who offer kits for barns and pole garage/barns at very reasonable prices. The problem is that you have to put them together. I guess we went through 6 or 7 thousand bolts/rubber washers and nuts to put that barn up. Plus, we had to rent a crane to lift each section up to bolt it all together. Then we had to use a cement mixer to pour a two foot wide section at a time until the entire 30X40 floor was cemented. It was seriously labor intensive. Here is a frontal pic.

it's too bad I can't really do that. Homeowner's Associations you know. Anything built in my neighborhood has to connect to the house. And can't stand out, like a 30 foot tall barn, lol. However, i have a close friend who has a garage that is about 30x100. He is fireman but repairs boats as a 2nd job so he has many of the tools i would use. So for certain things i'll be paying him a visit. But most of my engine work will be done when the body is in the shop and the garage will be mostly free.

Well, the answer to that Billy, is to sell your house in the city, and move out in the country where you can build any dang thing you please.

In order to fend off the inevitable clutter that occurs in a garage, I made a rule (ok and understanding) before we broke ground: The house belongs to the wife and kids, but the garage belongs to me and my mustang. Nothing, I mean nothing goes inside the garage without my consent. So far we have had only one violation. I quickly restored the rule of law by placing the offending materials in the kitchen sink.

Nah, ya gotta pull on a chain to get her up and down. Now, putting that dang door in was a challenge. My brother's wife is a Morman, and just about everyone in her chruch came out to help put that monster up.
