Here's my 65 with a Hurst shifter in a stock console. You just need to trash that big boot and get a smaller one.

wease, dude, get the console.

If a modified or replacement boot can't be had, you can sell the console on ebay and make enough to buy an aftermarket console that fits plus some. $200 for a factory console is cheap.

If the linkage fits, you're in.

Good luck.

It would be one of those arrangements where the deal is dependant on me not turning around and selling it. A "gentleman's agreement". Ordinarily, you would be spot on though.

Yes, that does exist. I happen to have that part and an ashtray from the "random box of crap that always comes with a vintage car".

A Hurst has a red, reverse lockout lever that sticks out at a weird angle. I also have a random 4 speed in my car (not sure which yet) that could be affecting where my lever comes up. The crux of the matter.

Not sure if you're getting a factory console. I pulled my transmission today because of a pin that popped out of the my pressure plate and caused my clutch not to work properly. You will need a smaller boot, one that tapers more at the top and snuggles up to your shifter a bit tighter

Shot with the plate off.

Shot with the plate on. Don't pick on my "Cars" 8-track.

My hurst shifter.

Pic of my transmission on the floor and not in the car where it should be.

Hey I'm going the same thing. I burned up my clutch during a parade tuesday. So I finally got around to start replacing it. That is why the shifter isn't in the hole in my pic
