Default 8" rear end rebuild

So this christmas I'm going to be rebuilding my rear end and I was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers on it like what parts will need to be replaced and how to install them. I have no idea if the rear end has ever been serviced in its 36 years of being on the road. It's gonna stay stock for now with an eventual upgrade in the future but I'm not running a bunch of power right now so I'm not all that worried about it.

New items you would want:
-ring and pinon
-axle bearings
-complete differential 'rebuild kit' (bearings and other miscellaneous)

Now if you've never done it before I'd recommend having someone who has done it before show you. You can't just tear it down and bolt it back up, exactly. Fine adjustments need to be made, using specific tools, that a novice can't do without excellent direction.

Also, get the 'durable' or 'timkin' bearings on the bearings and rebuild kit.
