i bought from salik a flex fan, an hei distributor, and a timing set.

this was 5 weeks ago, no parts, i have written numerous letters to him hoping i would not have to file for mail fraud, but that look like the only option now

NEVER, EVER USE PAYPAL. PAYPAL IS THE ****ING ANTI-CHRIST, THEY LITERALLY JUST ROBBED ME OF ALMOST A GRAND.

Paypal is not regulated. It is not a bank, savings and loan, credit card company or credit union. It's just a company which takes your money and then you hope they give to the people you intend to pay. You also are giving them access to your checking account when you sign up.
Personally, I have never had a paypal account, but that did not stop them from jacking a bogus $350 charge against my credit card, which they had no right to do. All I had to do to get it back was report it to the bank which issued the card. Stick with regulated financial institutions and credit cards.
And to keep this from going off topic...I have a second credit card with a $500 limit which I use when buying parts online for my classic Mustang. The limit can keep someone from screwing too badly with you.
