Losta work after a while you wonder how you did so much.
The last year has slowed me down but looking @ your work brought back some fond memories with my son fixing 40 years of bad roads and weather.

Looking good man.

thanks, it also makes me wonder where this summer went, it seems like yesterday i was having the best time of my life with my pals at work, wearing shorts and short sleeves doing my favorite thing in the world to do...working on my car. now today i realize now that back to school, and away from my pals at work, freezing my *** off trying to get the least bit of anything done.

oy, this is a job that you may want to have professionally done if money allows
in my case i had access to an unlimited supply of tools, labor, knowledge, and a CHIEF EZLINER FRAME RACK, if your rockers are rusted throught your car will be sagged in the middle, if its sagged in the middle you will have trouble fitting the rockers, then your doors will be messy.

only thing i can suggest if you are doing it yourself is to brace the car best you can, and do the torque box, then the inner and outer rocker. its not an easy chore, and if you have any question i'd be happy to help, just pm me with whatever you need.

That East Coast really beats up cars. Mine has never left the Bay Area, so I have never seen these types of problems.

The outer rocker does not look bad. Where were you rusted through? I had similar damage at the front bottom of the cowl side but mine was not as bad and I was able to patch it. In the photo of the car going up on the rack the passenger door is way out of whack. Is that the sagging you were talking about or just loose hinges.

Your dad is very fortunate. I hope my son feels the same way when he gets older (only 5). He wants this one, but building one together is the best way to go!

the car was sagging hgc.... but that is not why the door is out of whack going on to the rack, the door was actually just bolted on to tow it there, and i never aligned it properly.

also the outers were pristine, and i DID NOT replace them only inners, this made the job harder to some degree, but when i looked at after market outer rocker panels, they were not the quality i wanted.
when i say this made the job harder i mean that i had to drill and chisel nearly 300 STRONG (2 layers of [12g?] steel) spot welds. but at the same time leaving the outers showed how sagged the car was and made for more integral build.

thank you noroof, i feel the same way, and i think i am very fortunate to have a dad who can help me do the things that i want/like to do.
