Default ? about my steering wheel

The wheel that was in the car when I purchased it is the walnut style. The center cap was not on it but in the car. Is there a kit or something I can buy to put the cap back on. I also want to stain the wheel since it seems a little faded.

Thanks!

yep, look in the online catalogs, you'll find what you need. ( NPD, Mustangs unlimited, etc...)

I think that is an aftermarket Grant wheel. Most of the vendors sell kits with the center cap and horn.

When you get your grant horn assy don't expect it to function. I have never had any luck with mine ranging from not working at all to draining my battery due to a short. I recently broke down and purchased a Moto Lita. Le Carra is almost identical and can be purchased from Summit or both from e-bay. They cost double to triple of what a grant costs but function and look 10X better. Good luck.

Right, go to Autozone or order from one of the Mustang mailorder houses a Grant steering wheel horn kit. You'll have to take the wheel off and install the kit per instructions. It doesn't come with the center button...that would have come with the steering wheel.

The Grant wheels and horn buttons are temperamental in that the horn button can pop off and let the horn button ground out, setting off the horn and scaring the crap out of you.

You can do a few things to improve this 1) bent the flange on the horn ring so that it clips firmly into the horn button, 2) use a little silicone gasket sealant to stick the ring to the button, and 3) if you're doing any rewiring, install a relay to have the horn button just send a signal and avoid sending the full horn amperage through the horn button.
