Default Air Conditioning upgrade

I have an early 65 coupe with a Eaton powersteering pump. What do you think would be the best way to add air? I am told that the compressor will not fit with an Eaton pump unless you use a remote reservior. Is that true? and where can you find one. Or would it be best to change now to a ford or different power steering pump. Unfortunately I have rebuilt the Eaton. Is there anyway to modify the top to add a remote tank. I am not really worried about keeping things looking stock under the hood.

I am looking at a "Vintage air system" any comments.

Thanks

If you're looking at the vintage system that replaces the original heater box I would consider maybe classic air . The vintage uses a combined heater core and ac evaperator. Not the most efficent unit out there. The classic has separate cores and replaceable heater and defroster doors.

There are several vendors as the one reccommended by vesco that will provide you with compressor mounts and the whole bit for the underhood portion of the installation and accommodate your existing pump. As far as the underdash portion, I myself would not consider ANYTHING except an original or reproduction Ford underdash unit.

The knee knocker units as installed in the Mustang are not knee knockers due to the bucket seats and they do a GREAT job of cooling. They will look right at home in the interior as well.
