Well I don't really care whether or not he drives a classic or not. He drives a Mustang, I drive a Mustang, ergo we have something in common, that's enough for me. Welcome mygt500, nice to see someone else to help out.

To reply,

James, I appreciate the great reads and replies on this site, and have nothing personally against the Mod choice, I just felt the readership deserved to have a reg poster watching out backs, in simple terms.

That's how I felt, and that's how I reacted, but if a mod isn't doing much more than site maintenance and some posting, then I should lighten up and not vent. Truth is, I would have preferred someone with 1000+ posts in Classics, but I am glad for any help, especially since it's free. Sorry if I came on strong before.

Again, my posts were of no offense intended, in fact, I am ALSO from Detroit, rock city so I give him props for that. but I stand by what I said. I can appreciate your job being like keeping a bunch of halfwit retarded monkeys in check, but honestly, I think it's bs that I have never heard of this guy, never seen him having posted in classics, and am going to have the moderation of the forums I have acquired 1000+ posts on done by someone who spends more time looking at a brand new car at a dealer than under it wondering WTF this part is.

There is no offense intended directly at you, mygt500, but you have to understand, there are tons of us posting in here regularly, and none of us would be fitting to moderate the S197 section... so why should we be happy about the opposing situation?

So, I'll let it go. But it really sucks that no one within our own section was considered when looking for help. Not everyone here posts retarded OT threads, like myself and a few others. There are some good eggs here with level heads and CLASSIC CARS.

Welcome MyGT500, we (the classics) usually act a little better here. Most of us sit back, read and take what information we can back to our garages. We are out there and we welcome you even if we don’t post that much.

You seem to know a great deal about cars. What ever you own or owned is kinda moot when it comes to being able to answer questions or moderating a message board. If you’ve done it or know how to do it then share it, which I’m sure you will.

There are literarily millions of dollars worth of information being traded for free on this board in saved professional mechanic hours. I know that a lot of you are professional mechanics but people like me, I’m a medic in the Army (First Sergeant now), dove head first into the classic Mustang world a few years ago with next to zero car/mechanical knowledge. Just last week I changed my clutch out in my Mustang with zero help except for a few posts here on the board and some awesome people here with a few pictures of their ‘do it your self’ pics. I’ve done a lot of upgrades and fixes to my car, mostly with the help of this message board from people who’ve done it and know how to do it. Keeping a classic car tuned and running properly is no easy task. I myself drive mine until the next thing breaks. I use the help of this board to do some preventive maintenance and hopefully catch something before it breaks.

When I return back from Iraq (I leave next Thursday for a year) I will re-do my suspension, brakes, 5 speed trans and interior just to name a few of the major end items that I will change out and I will do it with my self and this message board and…..

……I can’t thank people like you enough that stand up and volunteer information/help for the little guys like me and the thousand others that use this board. JamesW does and exceptional job and I’m sure you will do just as good.

Welcome again!

James
