Lightbulb Master Cylinder Question

I have a 66 coupe with power drums all around. I have replaced every part of my stock brakes system with new parts. Now I have a question about my master cylinder. Advanced Auto and Autozone have 2 master cylinders avaible for a 66 with power drums..One is specifed to be for a car built before 1/3/66 and the other is after that date. I would like to know any of you know what the difference might be. The only difference i see is the different caps. see below.

I don't know, but have you checked the build date on your car? It is on the number plate.

If no other reason becomes apparent, go with the later one. For all you know it was an upgraded part.

I believe the difference is with how the brake light connects.

James, and if mine does not come equiped with that? My original just has the hard line coming out. No brake sensor light is attached. The other opening is plugged off.

I can't remember exactly where, but the date is stamped on the body somewhere. I think it might be on the top of the cowl on the passenger side.

Here's a photo of the 64 1/2 Master cylinder.... It has the brake light installed. If you do not have this, then you have the later model M/C.
