Just use steel wool and make the pits shinny, re-chroming is too expensive unless you are going for a show car. After you get rid of the oxidation and crap with steel wool follow it up with a good polish to protect the shine.

Default Cleaning chrome

Hey, New to forum. I'm piecing a 65 back together after 20 years. I've been cleaning all chrome with steel wool. You won't get that part very clean, sorry. Maybe you can help me. What's the sequence to putting all the parts back in the qrter? Thanks for any info you can give me.

that Chrome is shot. I have a mustang restoration shop near me that will sell originals for much cheaper than repo's. A little elbow grease and they will look nearly as good as new. PM me if interested.
