Ok so progress report and a question....

I went out to the garage earlier and got everything through several cycles of scotch pad / degreaser treatment. While I was at it...I notice on the panels way up behind the dash there was some very light surface rust due to 42 years of humidity, etc so I went ahead and brushed some rustoleum hammered on it...figured what the heck while I had it apart.

I am ready to sand and start taping everything off for prime / paint.

What grit sand paper would be the best?

I am thinking something very light?

I have some 1000 in the garage and I am supposed to have some other grits that I can't seem to find at the moment. Would 1000 work or is that too fine?
