Who has 17s on their 69-70?

I'll try to post a pic today.
BTW, the front adapters cost $60 on ebay and the longer rear studs were $20 at autozone.
1" more in the rear will get me in the same predicament I was in before with 275s. I'm trying to center the meat between all obstacles.

Why change the fronts to 235's ? Why not just leave the 245's? I have 235 45's up front and I think they look a little wimpy.. Just a thought. Especially if you are with 275 40's in the rear , they should sit at about the same height.

OH,, you bought studs instead of a bolt on spacer.. I see. Well if you get a bolt on spacer you may need to go back to the old studs in the rear because the long lugs may not fit with the wheel on the spacer.

I will not get a bolt on spacers for the rear for reasons stated earlier. On the front, since I have manual R&P, skinnier tires are easier to turn in the parking lot. I do appreciate your thoughts.
How wide are your rears booger?

I thought that I should add that when I was trying out new wheels, a bud let me borrow his 0 offset 17x8.5's with 275-40 Gforce goodrich tires and it fit perfect in the rear end.. There is a pic of that on dodgestangs site.. The car was green then..

You might be right about the 235s...245s would look better up front. The 245s there now don't seem to be too hard to crank going slow. I had 225s that were track tires and they were pretty hard to turn in a parking lot.
I'm also thinking that I can fit 285/40/17s in the rear. Taking measurements this weekend.
BTW, I found this great site to help everyone figure out what fits based on differences of rims and tires;

Be very careful how you use that calculator - it does NOT show that the tire section width varies as you change the wheel width. This may not matter if you're only making minor changes, but can be absolutely critical when you're trying to fit the widest (or maybe tallest) tire on a wider rim.
The correction is to add 0.4" (10 mm) to the tire section width for every inch wider the wheel is from the "measuring rim" width (that you can find at TireRack.com or other tire sites).
I like the idea that people are willing to be helpful by providing these calculators. Too bad that most of them are technically incorrect.
