Will these work?
I have a new carb that I was planning to put on at some point and have the money together for the related intake, just need to order the thing and probably going to go with the Edelbrock RPM performer though I was pondering the Weiand 8124 for a bit.
I really need new heads so I am thinking about changing everything at once, i.e. intake, carb and heads.
Could make an argument for putting on the new intake / carb now and putting new heads on later but that seems like duplicating effort.
May get a cam at some point but for now getting started with the "easy" bolt ons.
Wondering will something along these lines work for heads on a 289?

THose could work, but check your combustion chamber volume to ensure you know your compression ratio and keep is managable. That price is for one head, so two will be $1200 and there are others out there for a similar price that may be better. I would upgrade your cam before heads. Air cleaner, carb, intake, heads, cam, and exhaust must be selected to work together. The cam is the brains of the whole assembly. The best flowing combination with a cam that doesn't open the engine wide enough and long enough, is worthless.
